Many businesses are struggling to increase productivity and achieve growth. While these are clear signs that we need to change how we run our businesses, resistance to such change is rife. Just look at the struggle over flexible work practices or the pushback on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) measures. Debates such as these are unproductive – and unnecessary. If we look realistically at what is needed to drive growth, we will then be much better able to improve the results (financial and otherwise) that we want to achieve. The good news is that the path to doing well is largely the same as the one required for doing good.

Efforts to deliver impact beyond profit are often met by strong headwinds and the role of business in shaping our world is hotly debated.
